This process will allow you to conveniently have a backup of all your sim contacts. This helps if phone gets stolen or crashes down or even if it suffers from memory loss. As all the contacts are synced with your Gmail account, you can retrieve on any of the smart phones as a replacement device not necessarily to be Android.

1.Open your Contacts from your Android phone.
*.Press the Menu button and then select the More option from the list of menu items.
*.Select the Import/Export option to proceed.

2.Now, after clicking on Import/Export, you can Select your choice of Export to either SIM card or to SD card.

3.Sync contacts with Google Gmail. First, log into your Gmail account on your computer.
*.Once logged in, select the contact icon which is located on the left hand of the screen. You will be directed to contact management area.
*.Click on the “+” signed icon. After clicking on “+”, you will be asked to create a new contact.
*.Input all of your contact information.
*.Once done with all the entries, click on the save link.
*.Repeat this process until all of the contacts get saved.
4.Log into your Gmail account on your Android device where contacts are stored.
*.Go to the main menu on the device and select the contacts icon.
*.Drop down the check box to bring the list of options. Select the account from the available list.
*.Once you select the account, turn on the sync contacts option.
5.Now you have successfully synced the account with your Android device and all contacts will be transferred from the device.
Before you can start this you need to get your Nexus 5 rooted running stock Android 5.0.1 and Custom Recovery

Step 1: Download the Flashable ZIP

Ynych's mod comes in the form of a flashable ZIP, so point your Nexus 5's web browser to this link to download the file.

Step 2: Boot into Custom Recovery

When the ZIP has finished downloading, it's time to boot your phone into custom recovery. From a powered-off state, press and hold the volume down and power buttons simultaneously. When Android's Bootloader menu comes up, press the volume down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode," then press the power button to select it.

Step 3: Install the Mod

Before you flash anything in custom recovery, it's always a good idea to make a fresh NANDroid backup. If anything goes wrong, or if you end up not liking the mod, the easiest way to get things back to normal would be to restore that backup.
But when you're ready to flash the ZIP, tap the "Install" button to begin. From here, navigate to your device's Download folder, then select the "autostart_menu.zip" file.
Next, just swipe the slider at the bottom of the screen to install the mod, then tap "Reboot System" when it's done.

Step 4: Select Apps That Can Run on Boot

When you get back up, head to your phone's main settings menu and you'll find a new "Autostarts" entry. In here, you'll see a list of all the apps that currently have permission to run at startup—just untick the box next to any app and it won't automatically run when you boot your phone anymore.

Some apps, like Android System and SystemUI need to be able to run on boot for your phone to work properly. As a rule of thumb, don't disable the startup permission for apps with "Android" or "System" in their name or an Android logo next to their entry.

Which apps did you prevent from running automatically at boot? Let us know in the comments section below, or drop us a line on Facebook, Google+, or Twitter.
You wouldn't want to inviteOnePlus and Cyanogen to the same party. After the latter worked out an exclusive deal with Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax, an Indian court temporarily banned the Cyanogen poweredOnePlus Onefrom the country. Thatban was reverseduntil January 7th, asthe court ruled that Micromax's low priced Yu line is not a direct competitor to the flagship-style OnePlus One. A final decision is expected once the court resumes hearing the case next week.Recently, OnePlus hinted that it was working on its own build of Android that is close to being stock. An alpha version of the Android 5.0 build is available for OnePlus One users now to flash on their phone. The process calls for TWRP custom recovery to be installed on the handset, along with a ZIP file containing GApps. The latter includes Google's apps and software like the Play Store and Gmail. You can find everything you need, including instructions, at the sourcelink. You should back up all of your data prior to starting this process. And there is the chance that you might brick your phone, so tread carefully. As for OnePlus' future plans, no one knowswhether this Android build will eventually be sent OTA to just Indian OnePlus One models to fulfill the expected ruling from the Indian court, or if it will be deployed globally as well. OnePlus says that its custom Android ROM will be bloat-free "with stock-Android-like simplicity by default.""This is the first step in what will become our own custom ROM. It’s so early, in fact, that this build contains no extras beyond the stock features of AOSP Lollipop. It’s the base that we will continue to build upon, improve, and customize as we stabilize core functionalities on the latest firmware updates."-OnePlus

Using only text messages, you can browse the internet on your smartphone thanks to Astrobot. Once your text is sent to the service, the page you requested is stripped down to its bare minimum and sent to you as an SMS message.

You can text Astrobot such things as:
  • "Go to [website URL]" to go to a specific site
  • "Search the web for [search query]" for a general search
  • "[#]" - the number corresponding to the links that pop up
  • "[#] more" to receive that many more texts of the article
  • "Table of contents" to view them
  • "Where am I?" to view what you're currently reading
To start, you need the Astrobot phone number, which is 646-576-7688. I suggest saving it Astrobot as a contact so you never have to remember the number. After all, you'll probably be using this when you don't have any Internet connection.

Let's Run Through a Quick Example...

Whenever I message "Search the web for Interstellar movie," I receive back the most popular web search first, which just happens to be the Wikipedia page for Interstellar.
Since that's what I wanted to read, I texted back "1", which is the page's corresponding number, which sent me back the first portion of text from the Wikipedia page.
To receive more texts from the Wikipedia entry, I texted "4 more" to receive four more text messages, which began to summarize the movie.

If you forget what you're currently reading, text "Where am I?" to find out. Numbers corresponding a certain area of the site will be in brackets next to the option.

Sure, it isn't the prettiest thing in the world, but it does offer something that is rarely ever seen on any other applications. Being able to browse the web without using any actual data is pretty amazing in itself, so in case you're ever stuck with shitty service or just want to try this feature out, you should definitely text Astrobot.
What do you find most useful about this program? What situations would you text Astrobot in? Let us know below, and as always, make sure to follow us over on Facebook and Twitter

Apple has started advertising intention of paying its respects to the shopping holiday this Friday by enrolling both its on- and off-line locations into the craze. The information comes courtesy of Apple's Australian online store that already has a giant banner for the event.

We're not told exactly what to expect, though the image itself showcases an iPad, a SmartCover and a pair of Apple's EarPod, tied into the shape of a bow. These will all most likely end up for sale come Friday, and we're fairly sure that the folks from the land Down Under won't be alone in their good fortunes.

As you can see, Apple will be holding sales both online and in its brick & mortar retail locations, with the former getting free shipping as a bonus. If you squint real hard and give the fine pint a read, it'll dawn on you that usual Black Friday terms apply – prices, for one, are only valid from 12:01am to 11:59pm on November 29. Moreover, Black Friday-specific deals can't be paired with other, existing offers, not to mention that the promotional prices are only applicable for the stock at hand.

You're probably already prepping yourself psychologically (and psychically, at least you should) for Black Friday, so now would be a great time to have a read through our (still) short Black Friday guide, and keep checking back for more info.
